How long does it take?

Often problems and issues can take years to reach the stage where professional counselling or therapy is required. This means that individual circumstances, problems and issues are all factors in developing a treatment plan and an overall assessment of the time it will take to reduce the symptoms you are experiencing and to achieve your goals. 

Specific less complex problems take less time, anything from 6 to 12 sessions. 

However, therapy will take as long as it takes and is a bit like going on a journey, you are free to stop at any time you feel ready – when you experience relief from your immediate symptoms – or you may choose to keep going as you begin to feel perhaps better than you have ever experienced before and wish to become more of who you want to be.
